1. The first step when a new product arrives at the manufacturer's hands is mold making. Mold making is crucial. A primary requirement for a manufacturer is that they understand mold making, because without this knowledge, it's impossible to determine if they can successfully produce the product.
2. The second step is die casting. The prepared mold is placed on a die casting machine to cast the product. Die casting machines come in different tonnages; a 25-ton die casting machine is typically used for ordinary luggage and hardware accessories. Creating a good product using a die casting machine requires skill, which depends on the operator's expertise. Pressure must be carefully controlled during casting. Excessive pressure will result in burrs and waste electricity, while insufficient pressure will create a pitted and uneven surface. Therefore, the operator must control the machine precisely to produce a high-quality product! After casting, the product needs to be broken up.
3. The third step is polishing, the most crucial step in the production of bag and luggage hardware accessories. Just like women's jewelry, the shiny, smooth finish is achieved through high-level polishing and grinding, followed by electroplating. In fact, the bag and luggage hardware industry shares many of the same manufacturing processes as jewelry and other hardware products. Therefore, achieving a smooth, shiny finish hinges on proper polishing.
4. The fourth step is attaching the feet. To secure the product to the bag, wire feet are attached. This is done using die casting. Previously, a three-ton punch press was used; now, a bench drill press is used for pressing and securing. Technological advancements have led to newer tools. Another step involves drilling screw holes, which requires a tapping machine.
5. The fifth step, simply put, is the electroplating process for color application. The electroplating process depends on the skill of the electroplating technician. First, sulfuric acid is used to wash away impurities from the product area. Then, a base coat is applied to the product. The thicker the base coat, the better. Then, the product is placed in the electroplating tank for electroplating. Electroplating time that is too long or too short is not good. After electroplating, each product is taken off the shelf, packaged, and sent to the customer!
